Taman Ayun Temple

 

is a Royal Temple of Mengwi Empire and it is located in Mengwi Village, Mengwi sub district, Badung regency and about 18 Km north side of Denpasar town. It is strategically located beside of major roadway between Denpasar to Singaraja. It is set on the land which is surrounded by the big fish pond and look like a drift on the water. It owns the beautiful temple building with multistoried roof and Balinese Architecture. The wide beautiful landscape garden in front courtyard to welcome all visitors who come and visit this temple. It is a beautiful place to visit on your vacation in Bali. Pursuant to Papyrus Chronicle of the Mengwi (Lontar Babad Mengwi), the temple which is now referred by Taman Ayun Temple that it had been newly sanctified in the year 1634 M and it is named with Taman Ahyun Temple. The word of Ahyun is coming from from the root word Hyun meaning a temple is founded in the park (pool with the beautiful garden) which can fulfill the desire. The word Ahyun is then changed into Ayun word. Taman Ayun Temple is one of Hindu Temples in Bali become tourist destination which has been visited by many tourists from local and foreign.

There are alot of beautiful statues in this area, one of the famous statue is Kumabakarna Laga (The Fight of Kumbakarna). Kumbakarna is a mythical gigantic demon as the best disciple of Siwa. But this demon is a good demon, so he don't like to fight and kill people. Some of his enemies has told Siwa that Kumbakarna has tricked Siwa and don't obey the rule. So Kumbakarna has to fight to proof his honor to Siwa, but he don't like to kill peolple, and he died in his first fight. There are also some other beautiful statue in this area. The air in this area is so fresh so you can enjoy to walk between trees in this area.

Bedugul Lake

 

is a beautiful wide lake encircled by the cool temperature and blanketed by fog especially in the evening. The water is clear and calm with beautiful Mountain as backdrop view that make you will forbear staying there. There are plenty of traditional boats standby at the lakeside which is used by fisherman and found local people are fishing to add the beauty of this place. Ulun Danu Temple is a famous Hindu temple located in the lakeside of Beratan and owns the beautiful panorama with Beratan Lake and mountain as a backdrop view. When the lake water is going up, this temple is looked like adrift above water because the water encircles it. It is situated in the cool area and mountain with breathtaking view and many tourist visits this place every day in particular on the day time.

Tanah Lot Temple

 

Tanah Lot means "Land in the Sea" in the Balinese language. Located in Tabanan, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Denpasar, the temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide. Tanah Lot is claimed to be the work of the 16th-century janitor baratha. During his travels along the south coast he saw the rock-island's beautiful setting and rested there. Some fishermen saw him, and bought him gifts. Nirartha then spent the night on the little island. Later he spoke to the fishermen and told them to build a shrine on the rock for he felt it to be a holy place to worship the Balinese sea gods. The Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. Each of the sea temples were established within eyesight of the next to form a chain along the south-western coast. However, the temple had significant Hindu influence. At the base of the rocky island, poisonous sea snakes are believed to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders. A giant snake purportedly protects the temple, which was created from Nirartha's towel when he established the island.

Jati Luwih Rice Terrace

 

Jatiluwih is one the famous tourist destinations in Bali located in Tabanan regency, west part of the island offering the beautiful scenery of rice terrace with fresh atmosphere surround it. It is equal with its named of Jatiluwih where it is derived from two words ’Jati and Luwih’. Jati means real and Luwih means good or beautiful. The breathtaking panorama of rice terrace with mount Batukaru as backdrop is categorized as the most interesting scenery natures. It has been appointed as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO in particular of Subak Organization as a fundamental of the local society life. The varieties of local rice planted in this area are very specific with the size of rice tree that are relatively higher than the normal rice planted in other area in Bali. Jatiluwih is also well known as an area with the organic agriculture. Jatiluwih as a tourism object in Bali is actually well known when the Dutch colonialism in this island ( 1910- 1942 ) because in west part of Jatiluwih village the Dutch had build a castle. The government has set the Jatiluwih as rural tourism object in line with tracking more visitors to visit it. It is continuously improved and developed beside of the main asset of the beautiful nature with comfortable atmosphere as well as the stunning view of rice terrace those are all the attractions for tourist to visit it.
